The Definition of Kidney Failure

Kidney failure is a stage for all kinds of kidney diseases. That is to say all kinds of kidney diseases such as Diabetes Nephritis, Nephrotic Syndrome, Lupus Nephritis can develop into end stage kidney failure. People with kidney disease are easy to deteriorate into kidney failure which is because of the compensatory ability of kidneys. Experts divide kidney failure into four stages; you can check the information so as to have a clear cognition to each stage.
The four stages of kidney failure
1. Kidney function compensatory stage: If the kidney function is high than 50% there will be no symptoms such as high Creatinine, high urea nitrogen, high blood pressure and kidney can also keep metabolic balance. The glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is 50-80ml/min. The Creatinine Clearance Rate (CCR) is 50ml/min. Serum Creatinine (Scr) is 133-178μmol/L and Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) is lower than 7.0mmol/L.
2. Renal Function Decompensation stage: Kidney function at this stage is lower than 50% and there is fatigue, inappetence, diuresis and slight anemia. The Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) is less than 50ml/L and the Creatinine Clearance Rate (CCR) is 25-50ml/min, Serum Creatinine is higher than 177μmol/L (2mg/dL) and Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) is higher than 7.0mmol/L (20mg/dL).
3. Kidney function insufficiency stage: Patients at this stage will have anemia, Serum Phosphorus, Serum Calcium, metabolic acidosis, water and electrolyte disorder. The Creatinine Clearance Rate (CCR) is 10-25ml/min, Serum Creatinine is 221-442μmol/L (5mg/dl) and Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) is 17.9-21.4 mmol/L (50-60mg/dl).
4. Uremia stage (the end stage of kidney function): Patients at this stage will have obvious anemia, various complications of body systems, even coma, obvious disorder of water and salt metabolism and acid-base balance. The Creatinine Clearance Rate (CCR) is lower than 10ml/min and Serum Creatinine is 442-707μmol/L and Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) is higher than 21.4mmol/L.
We research kidney diseases from five intrinsic cells and each kidney disease is caused by the damage of one of the five intrinsic cells.
Then we can treat disease accordingly. On the one hand, we use Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy and Immunoadsorption-focus Blood Purification Technology to relieve those uncomfortable symptoms and repair damaged intrinsic cells. On the other hand we adopt Stem Transplant Cells to recover kidney structure because stem cells can differentiate into new intrinsic cells which can replace those necrotic cells to play their role.
According to the four stages people should know that 50% kidney function can keep body balance and there are no symptoms occurring in kidney. We advise patients who are being at early stage kidney disease to treat early and protect well so as to prevent or delay time to deteriorate into end stage kidney failure. So people should take routine examination so that they can find disease early and treat timely, especially for those who have genetic disorders. This information can help people to distinguish which stage he belongs to so as to take proper treatment and have correct diet.

Have I Got Kidney Failure?

Many diseases have the potential to arouse Kidney Failure, especially autoimmune diseases and the diseases with infection or inflammation, such as Lupus Erythematosus, Rheumatism, diabetes, Cardiovascular disease and all kind of Kidney Diseases. Since so many diseases can bring about Kidney Failure, how can we confirm that we have got Kidney Failure?
From symptoms
Actually, there is no obvious symptom in the early stages of Renal Failure, because many other Kidney Diseases may have the similar symptoms, such as diuresis, oliguria, odynuria, fatigue and so on. However, they can warn you that you should go to check your kidney functions.
In the late stages of Kidney Failure, kidneys lose the most function of removing the metabolic waste and extra fluid in body. The patients will present swelling of feet and legs, high blood pressure, loss of appetite and coma. The damaged structure may cause blood in urine and proteinuria. Acidosis makes shortness of breath. Loss blood in urine and the less production of red blood cells both worsen the conditions of anemia. Disturbance of electrolyte is to bring about bone pain, joint pain and Osteoporosis. In addition, vomit, nausea and diarrhea will occur to the patients with Kidney Failure.
From pathological changes
Some people, who usually take sports and have the body with an unusual compensatory ability, may not show some severe symptoms, even when they are at the late stages of Kidney Failure. Symptoms are behind pathological changes for ever. So the diagnose from those changes is more precise than that from symptoms. The normal tests should include BUN (blood urea nitrogen), creatinine, Ccr (Creatinine clearance rate) and GFR (glomeruli filtration rate). GFR is the most accurate standard to diagnose Kidney Failure. Ccr is secondary to GFR. When GFR is less than 80ml/min, Kidney Failure begins. Comprared with GFR, BUN and creatinine are hysteretic symptoms.
GFR: 50-80ml/min. BUN and creatinine are normal.
GFR: 50-20ml/min. BUN is 7.1 mmol/L and creatinine is 186-442 μmol/L.
GFR: 20-10ml/min. BUN is 17.9-28.6 mmol/L and creatinine is 451-707 μmol/L.
GFR: less than 10ml/min. BUN is more than 28.6 mmol/L and creatinine exceeds 707 μmol/L.
As it is reported, when GFR is more than 50 ml/min, the kidney functions are able to greatly recovered, as long as the effective treatments are adopted. So we should try to test GFR or Ccr, if we feel something with kidneys.

Hemodialysis, an Untherapeutic Method to Renal Failure

Hemodialysis is a replacement therapy for Renal Failure, when kidneys fail to work effectively and waste and extra water cannot be filtrated from our bodies. It works as an artificial kidney, but it is unable to replace all functions of the real kidneys.
Kidneys can filtrate blood, form urine, remove excessive water, keep the normal osmotic pressure, adjust electrolyte concentration and balance acid base, which hemodialysis can take over from our kidneys as well, but hemodialysis cannot secrete essential chemical elements like erythropoietin as the real kidneys, so patients who have taken hemodialysis usually have Anemia, Hypopsia and other like complications.
Although hemodialysis is adopted in kidney disease treatment, it is not really curing the damaged kidneys. It just reduces the burden of the real kidneys and helps them clean the internal environment for other effective treatments. If the real kidneys continue being worsened, hemodialysis can not save their lives. In other word, this treatment merely slower the disease and prolong life span but it does not avoid complete kidney failure. Therefore, at the stage of uremia, hemodialysis just works as the main adjuvant treatment to provide a relative clean environment for kidney transplant, stem cell transplantation and other effective therapies.
Compared with kidney transplant and stem cell transplantation, patients who adopting hemodialysis must follow more strict diet, because nutriment runs off and protein is resolved in the course of hemodialysis. Such patients should have animal protein, high vitamin and rich cellulose but some food containing potassium are forbidden, such as beans, edible seaweed, mushrooms, lotus seeds, jujubes, bananas and oranges etc

However, it is still very curative for patients with End-Staged Renal Failure to take hemodialysis which can effectively eliminate waste and extra water, keeping enter-environment clean and making preparations for next therapies.

Diagnosis of Kidney Disease—CT Scan

What is a CT scan?
CT (Computed tomography ) scan is a diagnostic imaging procedure that uses a combination of x-rays and computer technology to produce cross-sectional images, both horizontally and vertically, of the body. A CT scan shows detailed images of any part of the body, including the bones, muscles, fat, and organs. CT scans are more detailed than standard x-rays. CT scans may also minimize exposure to radiation.
How the CT scan operate?
Diagnosis of Kidney Disease—CT Scan
In standard x-rays, a beam of energy is aimed at the body part being studied. A plate behind the body part captures the variations of the energy beam after it passes through skin, bone, muscle, and other tissue. Although much information can be obtained from a standard x-ray, a lot of detail about internal organs and other structures is not available.
In CT (computed tomography), the x-ray beam moves in a circle around the body. This allows many different views of the same organ or structure. The x-ray information is sent to a computer that interprets the x-ray data and displays it in a two-dimensional (2-D) form on a monitor. Although many images are taken during a CT scan, in some cases the patient receives less radiation exposure than with a single standard x-ray.
CT scans may be done with or without a “contrast agent.” Contrast agent refers to a substance taken by mouth or injected into an intravenous (IV) line that causes the particular organ or tissue under study to be seen more clearly. Contrast examinations may require you to fast for a certain period of time before the procedure. Your physician will notify you of this requirement.
CT scan for kidney disease
CT scans of the kidneys can provide more detailed information about the kidneys than standard kidneys, ureters, and bladder (KUB) x-rays, thus providing more information related to injuries and/or diseases of the kidneys. CT scans of the kidneys are useful in the examination of one or both of the kidneys to detect conditions, such as tumors or other lesions; obstructive conditions, such as kidney stones, congenital anomalies, polycystic kidney disease, accumulation of fluid around the kidneys, and the location of abscesses.
Why a CT scan of the kidneys is done?
A CT scan of the kidney may be performed to assess the kidneys for tumors and other lesions, as well as obstructions. The obstructions may include kidney stones, abscesses, polycystic kidney disease, and congenital anomalies.
The CT scan is particularly useful when another type of examination, such as x-rays or physical examination, is not conclusive. CT scans of the kidney may be used to evaluate the retroperitoneum (the back portion of the abdomen behind the peritoneal membrane). CT scans of the kidney may be used to assist in needle placement in kidney biopsies.
After the removal of a kidney, CT scans may be used to locate abnormal masses in the empty space where the kidney once was. CT scans of the kidneys may be performed after kidney transplants to evaluate the size and location of the new kidney in relation to the bladder.
There also may be other reasons for your physician to recommend a CT scan of the kidney.

Immunotherapy to Treat Chronic Renal Failure

Chronic Renal Failure is the result of renal damage with progressive and irreversible characteristics. If no controlled, or poorly controlled, Chronic Renal Failure can usually develop into the End Stage of Renal Failure, or called as uremia. The latest technology of Immunotherapy can effectively treat this disease.
As for the treatment of Chronic Renal Failure, it usually means a lot of aspects, such as diet, life habit and attentions, and clinical treatment, etc. Here we focus on the Immunotherapy which is the latest treatment for Chronic Renal Failure.
Immunotherapy contains a lot of parts which are close related with each other. Next we would love to introduce the major steps of immunotherapy in the following.
The first step of Immunotherapy is to promote the blood circulation and remove the obstruction in blood. As we all know, Chronic Renal Failure is often originated from the shortness of essential substances from the blood. However, due to the glomerulus arteriosclerosis caused by renal fibrosis, there are insufficient energy supplies for kidneys, so kidneys are always in the state of slow blood circulation and also, there are always obstructions in the blood.
Mirco-Chinese Medicine often used in this step to not only promote the blood circulation, but also inhibit the kidneys’ inflammatory reactions, which can effectively protect the renal tissues and cells from being attacked by inflammatory reactions which are induced by immune complexes in the kidneys.
The second step of Immunotherapy is for the aim of cleaning the kidneys’ internal environment through Micro-Chinese Medicine as well as a set of blood purification technologies.
Micro-Chinese Medicine can not only promote the blood circulation, it also can degrade the immune complexes as well as repair the damaged renal tissues and cells. As for the blood purification, it usually contains a full set of technologies, such as immunoadsorption, plasma exchange, and etc, which can effectively eliminate the metabolic waste and toxins which are accumulated abundantly in the body in the stage of Chronic Renal Failure.
The last step is the application of Stem Cell Transplantation combined with Micro-Chinese Medicine.
Stem Cell Transplantation is a new application in the field of renal diseases including Chronic Renal Failure. Stem cells can replace those damaged renal cells as well as regenerate the new cells for the substitution of those necrotic kidney intrinsic cells. Under the favorable kidney internal environment created by Micro-Chinese Medicine, stem cells can regenerate kidney tissues and cells as well as restore its normal renal functions greatly.
Above mentioned are the brief introduction of Immunotherapy and this therapy is the latest technology in the treatment of Chronic Renal Failure. If you are interested for this treatment, feel free to contact our experts online.

How long Can Patients with Chronic Renal Failure Live

How long patients with Chronic Renal Failure live? This is the common doubt and worry for patients who suffer from Chronic Renal Failure. Some patients even fear that there will be no hope for living if Chronic Renal Failure appears.
Generally speaking, Chronic Renal Failure is a relatively long process before it deteriorates into the end stage. To be more specific, the life span for patients with Chronic Renal Failure is usually subject to many factors, such as the treatment choice, the underlying cause, complications management, other attentions, and so on.
So, for the patients, before Chronic Renal Failure deteriorate into the stage of uremia, patients can have great chances to live for a long time if they can receive an effective treatment together with some necessary attentions in complications and life, etc.
In order to treat Chronic Renal Failure fundamentally, treating from the root of Chronic Renal Failure is the fundamental way to solve this disease. Chronic Renal Failure is caused due to the damage of renal intrinsic cells. Often, complicated immune complexes are likely to deposit in some part of the kidney, and these immune complexes can easily bring damage to renal native cells, so when the renal cells or tissues are damaged, many kinds of kidney diseases can appear.
We adopt the up-to-date immunotherapy to treat Chronic Renal Failure. This immunotherapy aims at improving the human immune system so as to let the body itself to discharge these immune complexes deposited in the kidney. The specific process can be summarized in the followings.
On one hand, we should actively treat those primary diseases which have led to the Chronic Renal Failure, and we can take necessary measures to control and treat all kinds of complications induced by Chronic Renal Failure.
On the other hand, use Micro-Chinese Medicine, medicines that are miro-processed which makes the medicine effectiveness improved over one thousand times compared with the original medicines, to regulate the body immune function, so as to remove the immune complexes in the kidney, at the same time, Micro-Chinese Medicine can help to protect the remaining renal function so as not to let them damaged further by immune complex.
Generally, patients with Chronic Renal Failure can also live for a long time even if they suffer from Chronic Renal Failure, provided that a scientific treatment is received and attentions in life and diet are put in mind.

What Causes Kidney Disease and How to Treat It(二) - Immunotherapy

As long as e know that about 95% of kidney diseases are caused by immune disorder, a dysfunction of the immune system, can cause normal cells and tissue damages. In this process, a lot of immune complexes (An immune complex is formed from the integral binding of an antibody to a soluble antigen.) are formed and deposit in kidneys, which can cause hypersensitivity (an immune response that damages the body's own tissues). If hypersensitivity can not be inhibited, kidney intrinsic cells and tissues will be damaged. In clinic, they are known as various kidney diseases.
Hence if we want to treat kidney diseases, we need to eliminate immune complexes that deposit in kidneys. The latest treatment method for kidney diseases is immunotherapy. In this therapy, micro-Chinese medicine is used to eliminated immune complexes
Immune tolerance
In this stage, patients will be injected immunosuppressive drugs regularly to prevent inflammation reaction. And our doctors will follow the condition of the patients.
Immunoregulation
Chinese medicine is used to eliminate immune complex. Micro-Chinese medicine osmotherapy improve immune ability and blood circulation, and then the improved immune ability can help eliminate immune complexes. This therapy have above functions based on Chinese medicine curative effects like dilating blood vessels, anti-inflammation, anticoagulation, preventing blood viscosity and degrading extracellular matrixes.
Immune Protection
In this stage, western medicine is combined with Chinese medicine to protect kidney intrinsic cells and tissues. Western medicine will be used to stop inflammation. At the same time, Chinese medicine is used to improve blood circulation and inner environment. Stem cells transplant is used to repair kidney functions.
Immune clearance
The treatment methods: immunoadsorbent technique, plasma exchange, blood purification
Short-term therapeutic effects
urine changes; urine creatinine increases, disappearance of poisoning symptoms, digestive tract system symptoms, heart failure symptoms, stable blood pressure, anemia is improved.
Insists to treat kidney diseases, there are more hope! Immunotherapy is one of your new choices.
