Signs or Symptoms of Acute Kidney Failure

The symptoms of Acute Kidney Failure result from various disturbances of renal function that are associated with the disease. Accumulation of urea and other nitrogen-containing substances in blood lead to those symptoms, such as fatigue, poor appetite and headache. The increasing potassium can lead to irregularities in heartbeat, which can be severe and life-threatening.
Acute Kidney Failure usually develops in elderly people. Besides, to people with diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems, weight problems, kidney or liver disease, it is easy for them to get the Acute Kidney Failure.
Pain in flanks may be encountered under some conditions, such as thrombosis of the renal blood vessels or inflammation of kidneys. It is the result of stretching of the fibrous tissue capsule surrounding kidneys. If the kidney injury is caused by dehydration, there may be thirst as well as evidence of fluid depletion on physical examination. Physical examination may also provide other clues as to the underlying cause of the kidney problem, such as a rash in interstitial nephritis and a palpable bladder.
There are several syptoms of Acutre Kidney Failure:
1. Pain on one side of the back, above the waist and just below the rib-cage.
Because some renal functions have lost, kidneys can not excreate sufficient fluid from body, thus leading to accumulation of fluid in limbs (peripheral edema) and the lungs (pulmonary edema).
2. Sudden decrease in urine output.
Because the kidney injury, there may problems in urinaton for patients of Acute Kidney Failure. The same as that of Chronic Renal Failure, patients may meet changes in urine. Most patients of Acute Kidney Failure will have less or none urine suddenly.
3.Edema or swelling of the legs and feet.
Edema or swelling may occur in legs, ankles, feet, face or hands. For some children ,it is usually a suffering. Many children with edema will have a moon-shape face, which brings pain to them in both physic and mind.
4. Other symptoms.

Patients of Acute Kidney Failure may have vomiting, that is, almost anything they eat or drink accompanied by diarrhea, leading to dehydration. In addition, people of Acute Kidney Failure may feel restless and confused.
