What Is Renal Failure ?

Kidney are important organs for human. The main function of the kidneys is to get rid of waste products from our body that are created by the body's constant metabolism. They filter all the natural toxins as impure blood passes through them, sending these toxins combined with excess water to the bladder for storage until urinated. If a person gets Renal Failure, that is his/her has lost some renal functions. Kidney failure occurs when both the kidneys fail to function as desired and are not able to rid the body of these harmful toxins and excess fluid. The toxic blood and excess water in turn will cause many other complications, leading to severe ailments, at times fatal. In a word, Renal Failure means part or complete loss of renal function which is caused when various chronic kidney diseases develop into the end stage.
Types of Renal Failure
There are two types of Renal Failure: Acute Renal Failure and Chronic Renal Failure. The type of Renal Failure is determined by the trend in the serum creatinine. Other factors which may help differentiate acute kidney injury from chronic kidney disease include anemia and the kidney size on ultrasound. Chronic kidney disease generally leads to anemia and small kidney size.
There are complex and various causes for Acute Renal Failure which is a clinical syndrome. At present, there is no perfect classification of pathogenesis. According to the medical habits, Acute Renal Failure is divided into Prerenal Failure, Postrenal Failure and Postrenal Failure.

The causes for kidney failure and the signs and symptoms of kidney failure could be similar in Acute Renal Failure and Chronic Renal Failure with symptoms increasing and worsening in Chronic Renal Failure.
